Statement Earrings

Ich könnte diesen Beitrag eigentlich beginnen, wie den letzten „7 ways to wear“ Post hier am Blog. Mit den Worten: Wow, die Wochen sind verflogen! Mittlerweile ist es schon wieder Mitte/Ende Februar, mein 28. Geburtstag liegt hinter mir und ein neues aufregendes Jahr vor mir. Zum Geburtstag möchte ich gleich noch ein paar Worte verlieren, bevor ich mich dem eigentlichen Thema widme. Ich bin ja ein Riesen-Fan meines eigenen Geburtstags (haha) und habe ihn dementsprechend gefeiert. Meine Freunde und Familie wissen zum Glück, dass ich in dieser Hinsicht etwas verrückt bin und haben sich nicht lumpen lassen. Die neue Woche hat also recht gut gelaunt gestartet. Naja, wäre mir nur nicht mein neuer Highlighter Stick heruntergefallen und direkt auf der Spitze gelandet. Das hat in so einem plötzlichen Wutanfall geendet, dass ich ihn tatsächlich nie ausprobiert habe und es auch nicht mehr tun werde – wenn ihr versteht … Wer braucht schon Highlighting Sticks?

Nun aber zum Thema: Statement Ohrringe. Auf den ersten Blick ein Accessoire, mit dem man mich eher selten sieht. Aber seitdem ich dieses besonders hübsche Paar von Mango an Carola von Vienna Wedekind entdeckt habe, ist alles anders und sie baumeln mindestens einmal pro Woche an meinem Ohr. Deshalb habe ich euch unten nicht nur diese hier, sondern einige weitere schöne Paare verlinkt und muss sagen, dass Mango gerade eine wirklich schöne Auswahl hat. In Sachen Statement Ohrringe kann ich euch zwar nur wenig Kombinationstipps geben – und freue mich umso mehr auf die Looks der anderen Mädels – in meinen Augen wirken sie aber zu lässigen Outfits mit Bandshirts und Co mindestens genau so gut wie zu schlichten oder schickeren Looks. Hier bewege ich mich mit Camisole-Dress und Boots irgendwo dazwischen und stelle euch bei der Gelegenheit auch gleich meinen neuen/alten Mantel von Isabel Marant vor. Was habe ich für ein Glück! Meine Freundin Julia hat ihn in einem Second Hand Laden entdeckt und ich daraufhin sofort zugeschlagen. Wer hätte gedacht, dass mir dieser Mantel, den ich bereits vor fünf oder sechs (???) Jahren angeschmachtet habe, einmal gehören würde? Yay!

I could actually start this article like I started the latest „7 ways to wear“ post here on the blog. With the words: Wow, the weeks went by fast! Meanwhile, it is already mid or rather end of February, my 28th birthday lies behind me and a new exciting year in front of me. So I would like to say a few words about my birthday, before I go on with the actual topic: I am a huge fan of my own birthday (haha) and celebrated it appropriately. Luckily, my friends and family know that I’m a bit crazy with my birthday and were very ambitious. Accordingly, the new week started well. If only I hadn’t dumped down my new Highlighting Stick, which landed exactly on point. This has ended in such a sudden rage that I’ve never actually tried it and will not do it anymore – if you know what I mean. But who needs highlighting sticks anyways?

Now to the actual topic: Statement earrings. An accessory you rarely see me with on first sight. But since I discovered this pretty pair from Mango on Carola from Vienna Wedekind everything is different and I wear them at least once a week.  That’s why I’ve linked you this pair and some other pretty pairs above and I must say that Mango offers a great selection at the moment. Well, in terms of statement earrings I can’t give you a lot of styling tips obviously– that’s why I can’t wait to see the other girl’s looks – but I think they match casual outfits e.g. with band shirts as well as simple or chic looks. Here I’m somewhere in between with my  camisole dress paired to boots, but I wanted to introduce you to my new/old coat by Isabel Marant. How lucky I am! My friend Julia discovered it in a second hand shop and I had to get it. Who would have thought that this coat, which I have already been eyeing five or six years ago, would belong to me once? Yay!
