Currently on my mind

26/01/18

Also immer her damit!

Go Hedi!

ENG:

Wow, what a week! So much happened these past days: I was on the road every day and the fashion world kept me busy. I’ve been thinking about my consumer behavior, my favorite designer is leaving my favorite label, and the haute couture shows in Paris have once again taken my breath away.

But let’s start from the very beginning.

#1 You may already have noticed on Instagram that I have received a comment from a dear reader because of the Instagram image shown above.

Roughly speaking, it was about myself advertising for a 12 Euro cardigan. And I have to agree with her, that was not exactly the fine sustainable way. I could have deleted the picture, but I did not want that, because it would have been inauthentic. Also I could have ignored the comment or didn’t have to make it public. But I didn’t want to, because I am happy about each and every comment and I also deal with each one individually. I don’t want to start a discussion, as I know that my fashionable consumer behavior is above average and there are much better role models in this matter. For example, I refer to my Salzburg colleague Caro from „Die gute Güte“.

Nevertheless, I would like to say a few words: It doesn’t happen very often that I buy something very cheap at the sale. Mostly, I tend to focus on more expensive things that I deliberately buy when they are reduced or very often second-hand. And even if hardly any of the brands that I own have a sustainable production (yes, I wouldn’t have thought so before my research), I can at least say that the pieces that make it into my wardrobe, usually stay there for years or are sold or given to friends. This is important to me personally, because fashion is not a disposable product for me, but my biggest hobby.

Nevertheless, I can certainly learn a lot about this topic and I look forward to any tip or hint in this direction. Just drop me a message if you like to!

#2 Now to the second thing, which has been on my mind. Phoebe Philo leaves Céline. And there is none other following than Hedi Slimane, former chief designer of Yves Saint Laurent. Wow. At the moment I can only say that much: Phoebe Philo made me investing in my first designer bag. She has designed quite a few of the most beautiful bags and she made Céline THE brand I fell in love with. Still, I’m a fan of change and I’m curious to see what the future holds. Go Hedi!

#3 And all I can say about the Fashion Week in Paris is: Wow, wow, wow. Karl Lagerfeld always manages to make me dream, and Giambattista Valli blew me away, look at this dress!

#4 Last but not least, my pictures: They have just been taken and you can see, that I started relaxed into the weekend. Anyone who knows me knows me also knows, that I always take one of these cups with me. Every day at home I brew myself a big cup of fresh coffee and by the time I take the last sip, it’s already cold.
